Hat Trick For Veneno

In News by COSA

Not even a jump to the Preferred ranks could stop Veneno from extending his winning streak to three-in-a-row Monday evening at Grand River Raceway.

Veneno, a six-year-old son of Real Artist-Scoots N, got away in mid-pack while Battle Strong and Hes Got Swagger exchanged punches to the quarter pole in :27.4. Hes Got Swagger looped to the top and proceeded to carve out the half in :56.4 before Veneno got underway and muscled his way to the top at the three-quarter pole in 1:25.1. He then used a :28.4 closing quarter to win by 2-1/4 lengths over race favourite Hes Got Swagger in 1:54. Print Media was third.

Owned, trained and driven to victory by Paul Davies of Arthur, Ont., Veneno now owns a 3-1-1 record from 10 starts this season. The lion’s share of the loot lifted his earnings over $130,000.
